This Sunday, December 7th, I’ll be in Berlin giving a talk about Rangatira (and the artist Lindauer) at the Alte Nationalgalerie. Copies of the German edition of the novel will be on sale at the museum throughout the run of the Lindauer exhibition.
Thanks to a very kind invitation from the New Zealand Embassy in Germany, I’ll be back in Berlin in early April for an event at the English Theatre. The NZ ambassador, Peter Rider, and I will be presenting a wide-ranging programme on NZ books and writers (and culture, history, sport!) as part of the theatre’s Berlin Sofa series.
The short speech I gave at the press conference about New Zealand’s programme as Guest of Honour at this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair has been posted online.
You can listen to an excerpt from RANGATIRA – in English! – at the Listener’s Book Club website. And you can ask me a question about the novel here.
I think it’s also possible to listen to my recent interview about the novel with Kathryn Ryan on Radio New Zealand.
